A worker in Peru was hurt in an apparent industrial accident on Monday and was classified in critical condition on Tuesday. An industrial accident is defined as any injury caused by an accident that occurs while a person is at work. While your thoughts may immediately turn to construction workers, miners, or manufacturing employees, industrial accidents can affect anyone in any field.
The tragic incident occurred at about 6 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022, when a 55-year-old Dalzell man was hurt in American Nickeloid, Peru. Already has played its part by reducing his level of activeness, talk less of him being in an accident.
“Our thoughts are with (the worker’s) family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time,” said Susan Jones, human resources manager for American Nickeloid.
According to the Peru Police Department’s first investigation, a guy became stuck in a conveyor, was freed, and was reported unconscious when Peru Fire and EMS arrived on the scene.
The man was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria by LifeFlight Helicopter. He is listed as critical, according to a hospital spokesman, as of Tuesday noon.
