One of the mainstays of the Iowa women’s basketball program is receiving the acclaim she deserves as one of the best players in the country. The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association bestowed its national Assistant Coach of the Year award upon Jan Jensen, who serves as the assistant head coach for the Hawkeyes. Jensen received this honor in Division I. The award for Assistant Coach of the Year was first given out in 2016 and continues to be given out every year.
Jensen is now in her 19th season as the associate head coach for the Iowa women’s basketball program, which marks her 23rd season overall with the program. She is the recruiting coordinator for the Hawkeyes and deals with the athletes in the post positions.
