Dale Daniel Rodberg, a big-hearted man died on Friday, April 14, 2023, after a brief illness. The Coral Shores High School graduate was announced dead last week and an obituary and has been released by the family. Dale was a beloved husband and father who was known around Manhattan Beach for his generosity and warmth. Left to mourn him are his wife, three children, his parents, and his community of friends.
Who was Dale Daniel Rodberg?
Dale Daniel Rodberg was born on August 25, 1960, in Islamorada, Florida, to Allan and Mary Jane Rodberg. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Finance. Dale met his wife, Kim Wilder Rodberg, while working for Lehman Brothers in New York City early in his career. Dale was the consummate father, husband, friend, and host because of his wit, generosity, and warmth. He lavished attention on his wife and children. Throughout his sister Debbie’s life, he carefully cared for her. He rallied and brought his pals together. Simply put, Dale uplifted people.
Dale was a firm believer that life was meant to be lived rather than endured. And he’d be damned if anyone missed out on the party. Dale was The Captain, and everyone was expected to get aboard, whether it was a daily pickleball game, a weekly family meal, or a yearly boat excursion with everyone who wanted to attend. There would be music, cocktails, and laughs.
Dale was devoted to his family and helpful to anyone in need. He enjoyed photography, boats, scuba diving, and anything related to the Florida Keys. Above all, he recognized that the ultimate measure of a man is what he contributes rather than what he possesses. And no one contributed more than Dale. Dale is survived by his wife, Kim Wilder Rodberg; their daughters, Alex Gardner Rodberg (28 years), Olivia Grace Rodberg (26 years), and Mary Myers Rodberg (22 years); his parents, Allan and Mary Jane Rodberg; siblings Gail Rodberg, Kimberly Rodberg, and Derek Rodberg and his wife, Tara Rodberg; and many nieces, nephews, family members, professional associates, and an incredible team of friends. Debra Jane Rodberg, Dale’s sister, predeceased him.
