Daegan Vaughn Death – Former Trio High School wrestling star Daegan Vaughn has sadly passed away. He died on Saturday 19th May 2023 after a tragic accident leaving those that knew him in shock. He was pronounced dead at the scene. On Sunday, Chattooga Indian Football shared the news of his death on its Facebook page saying “Praying for our friends and families at Trion. Lost a member of the 2021 football and wrestling teams”.
How did the accident happen?
On Saturday night, a guy from Georgia was piloting a personal watercraft when it ran aground and collided with a tree on Weiss Lake. The accident resulted in the man’s death. Daegen Vaughn, age 19, was pronounced dead at the scene, as stated by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). A passenger who was riding on the Yamaha WaveRunner that was involved in the accident sustained injuries and was transported to the Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia.
When the accident took place in the Yellow Creek region of the lake, both of them were protected by personal flotation devices that they were wearing at the time. The Marine Patrol Division of the ALEA is continuing their investigation into the crash at this time.

A diving crew was able to retrieve the body of a man after an accident that occurred on Jackson Lake on Saturday 15th April 2023. According to officials with the Butts County Sheriff’s Office, reports of a person drowning were received by police in the region of Kersey Bridge on Jackson Lake. When the diving team from Butte County came, they found a man named Torey Antonio Domineck, who was 48 years old and from Palmetto. It was determined that he had passed away at the site.
According to the findings of the investigation, Domineck and some of his pals were tubing on the lake when he lost control of his tube and fell into the water. At the time of the event, he was not wearing a life jacket as required by the regulations.
