Who was Cyrname?
Cyrname, a remarkable racehorse, triumphed in eight out of his 23 races and accumulated an impressive earnings total exceeding £350,000. During a particularly memorable period in the winter of 2019, he displayed his prowess by claiming victory in the bet365 Handicap Chase at Ascot in January, leaving his rivals trailing by a staggering 21 lengths while ridden by Harry Cobden at odds of 4-1.

The following month, he continued his dominance with a commanding 17-length triumph in the prestigious Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase. After a 280-day hiatus from competition, Cyrname underwent wind surgery and marked his return with a thrilling victory over Altior, elevating his rating to an impressive 177. However, his attempt at the three-mile distance in the King George that same year resulted in a distant second-place finish behind Clan Des Obeaux.
Subsequently, he encountered misfortune as he fell while defending his Betfair Chase crown in February 2020. Following an additional 259 days away from the racetrack, he made a triumphant comeback, winning the Charlie Hall on Halloween that year. Unfortunately, his later races saw him being pulled up on both occasions, concluding his racing career.
Cyrname obituary and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by the family.
