Cynthia “Cindy” Roberson Gobble Missing, Gregory Wayne Gobble suspected kidnapper found dead after Ashanti Alert; A woman and the man suspected of her possible kidnapping have been found dead, according to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
An Ashanti Alert was issued for Cynthia “Cindy” Roberson Gobble, 60, of Mocksville, on Thursday after she reportedly disappeared from a home in Mocksville. The suspect was identified as Gregory Wayne Gobble, 59, of Mocksville.
Cynthia’s family expressed concern, stating that it was unusual for her to be out of touch for such a prolonged period. Her personal belongings were found in her vehicle, further raising alarm. The Ashanti Alert stated, “Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Cynthia Roberson Gobble. There is evidence of physical endangerment, abduction, or kidnapping.”
On Friday, the Davie County Sheriff’s Office announced that Cynthia and Gregory Gobble were found dead in a wooded area on the Iredell County side of the Iredell-Davie line. The sheriff’s office did not release additional information about the state or context in which they were found.
“Iredell County and Davie County detectives are currently processing the scene,” the sheriff’s office stated. “We do not suspect that any other persons were involved in this incident and there is no continuing danger to members of the public.”
