Irving Lollar and Crystal Cooper Death – On the evening of July 24th, 2023, the Hartford police identified a couple who were discovered deceased in their apartment, and authorities are currently investigating their deaths as a murder-suicide. The incident took place at 70 Russ St., just one block south of the capitol, and was brought to the attention of the police around 7:15 p.m. when they received a well-being check request.
Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers found a man and woman, Irving Lollar (aged 35) and Crystal Cooper (aged 24), who were involved in a domestic relationship, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, they were pronounced dead on-site by the police. The initial assessment led the investigators to consider Crystal Cooper as the victim of this unfortunate event. This incident marks the 21st homicide in Hartford so far this year.
According to Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert, the deceased couple had recently moved into the third-floor apartment and were known to be in a relationship. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation, with the Major Crimes Division canvassing the area and the Medical Examiner having responded to the scene. During the incident, around twenty-four family members and neighbors gathered outside the apartment building on Monday night, seeking more information about the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
One family member required medical attention due to the emotional distress caused by the tragic news. The police are urging anyone who may have pertinent information related to this incident to come forward and share it with them.
