Couples found dead In Joliet Murder-Suicide Identified :According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, a Joliet woman and her estranged husband who committed murder-suicide were identified on Sunday. The Joliet Police Department responded to a stabbed lady in the 3400 block of Pandola Avenue around 11:10 a.m., according to a press release. A 35-year-old lady with multiple stab wounds was located in the street by officers.
Police located a 32-year-old guy with stab wounds in a nearby driveway. Both were pronounced deceased at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center. Authorities named the deceased as Joliet resident Melissa Aud-Headlee, 35, on Facebook on Sunday. Police identified the stabbing suspect as 32-year-old Michael Aud-Headlee of Carmi, Illinois. The Will County Coroner’s Office said autopsy, police, and toxicology reports will determine both deaths’ causes and manners.
The victim was divorcing the male, according to Joliet police. A preliminary investigation found the suspect’s arrival at the victim’s home caused a disturbance, and she fled. Police say the offender chased the victim with a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest many times. After attacking the victim, witnesses reported the man stabbed himself in the chest many times.
Police said the couple’s 3-year-old son was home but unharmed. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was contacted per state reporting regulations. Police stated the murder-suicide was a targeted domestic incident with no wider threat.
