Cory Nochta Death – Cory Nochta, a City of Goodyear firefighter whose world was changed when he was diagnosed with ALS has passed away. Firefighter Cory Nochta died yesterday morning, Wednesday, the 24th of May 2023. He was announced dead through social media publications. Cory was a perfect example of what it means to be a wonderful person. He had a calming presence and was extremely kind, he touched the hearts of so many.
Goodyear Fire Department released a statement regarding the passing of their beloved firefighter, Cory Nochta”
“We are saddened to share that our brother Cory Nochta passed away yesterday morning, surrounded by family, fire department members, and friends. Cory joined the Goodyear family in 2018 and retired in June 2022 after his ALS diagnosis. Cory will be missed, and our thoughts and condolences go out to his wife, family, and friends.”
Who was Cory Nochta?
Cory played multiple sports at Shadow Mountain High School, and his coach at Phoenix College, Ron Wolfley, was in charge of his football team. By 2018, Nochta had joined the fire department in Goodyear. Cory and Kimberly were born and raised in North Phoenix. They both went to Shadow Mountain High School and graduated in 2001 and 2000, respectively. Cory and Kimberly’s brother played softball together in Little League, but they didn’t meet until they were older.
In 2018, the same year they got married, Cory got a job with the Goodyear Fire Department. Kimberly, Cory’s wife, is a nurse. They have been married for four years and have a mixed family with four kids: Rypkin (12), Gaven (12), Griffin (10) and Anderson (9). Kimberly does everything she can to help her husband through his good and bad times, while also keeping the house running.
