He died leaving, family, friends, loved ones and his wife, Lizzy Trelstad who will forever miss him heartbroken and devastated, The news of his death was announced through a social media post by Saint Ignatius Chicago Rowling.
Who was Conor Skelding?
Conor, a skilled rower who had been a part of the squad for four years, competed for them in the 2009 Head of the Charles. Conor Skelding’s choice to join the squad in 2006 marked the beginning of ten years of Skelding brothers participating on the rowing team. They all attribute Conor’s discovery of the sport that has meant so much to their family. He was married to his lovely wife, Lizzy Trelstad.
Later on, his brothers Cameron, Owen, and Aidan came back to lead the squad as coaches. Coach Rich Sims had a significant beneficial impact on Conor’s character throughout his early years, according to Conor. The Skelding family is in our thoughts and prayers at this trying time. Conor, may you rest in peace. He was 31 years old at the time of his death.
He attended Columbia University in New York City in 2014 where he earned a BA with majors in English and American Studies. He also graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep in his native Chicago in 2010.
