An accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon on Interstate 94 on the Red River Bridge in Moorhead resulted in the death of one individual. The collision, which took place at approximately 11:30 a.m., included two automobiles, according to the police. The initial car was a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu with two people inside; sadly, one of them passed away. The deceased has been identified as Shalie Lipp, who was 21 years old and originally from Breckenridge, Minnesota. Lipp is a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, and he was supposed to take part in the No Mercy XI competition that was going to take place at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, on Saturday, May 20.
The accident report states that Lipp was the only person involved in the collision who was not wearing a seat belt. Joseph Trottier, who was 35 years old at the time, was the driver of the vehicle in which she was traveling. The second vehicle was a Jeep Cherokee from 2017 that had three people inside. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, there were no injuries reported from anyone in this vehicle.
According to the state police, both vehicles were traveling east on Interstate 94 when the Malibu collided with the Jeep. On Sunday, as authorities were clearing the scene of the accident, the freeway was shut down for a chunk of the day. The inquiry into the crash is still ongoing. For the purpose of assisting Shalie Lipp’s family with the costs associated with her funeral, a direct bank account has been established. It can be found in the Perham branch of the United Community Bank. According to several of my friends, the bank will also accept payments via the telephone.
