Compton school shooting – According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Chen, on the 4th of July 2022, a man was shot to death in Compton. Reports states that sheriff’s detectives were searching for his killer describing this incident as the third murder recorded in the city on July 4. The fatal shooting occurred around 5 p.m. in the 800 block of El Segundo Boulevard.
Authorities mentioned that the victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police said a motive for the shooting was unknown and no suspect description was available.
Reports disclosed that two men were also reported shot, in a separate shooting, with one located at the entrance to the Martin Luther King Hospital in the WIllowbrook area where he died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Willowbrook is an area in northwest Houston, Texas, United States bordered by the Cutten Road to the east, Grant to the north, Rockland to the west, and Beltway 8 to the south. Sam Houston Race Park is one mile away.
Police said later in the evening a third man was shot and killed in the 1000 block of West 134th Place. Investigations are ongoing at the moment.
