Community Mourns Kathleen Lehman a Beloved Resident of Watertown, WI: At home, Kathleen “Kathy” M. Lehman, 53, died Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family. On October 20, 1970, Wesley and Judy (née Hollatz) Kehl had Kathleen Marie Lehman in Oconomowoc. Her baptism and confirmation were at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon on November 1, 1970, and May 26, 1985. In 1985, she graduated from Lebanon’s Immanuel Lutheran. In 1989, Kathy graduated from Watertown High. UW Oshkosh awarded her a BA in education in 1994. In 2000 and 2009, Kathy earned master’s degrees in reading specialists from UW Oshkosh and administration from Viterbo University.
On June 19, 1993, Kathy and Jeff Lehman married at Lebanon’s Immanuel Lutheran Church, beginning their love and spiritual journey. Kathy’s high school job at Busse’s Pharmacy inspired her work ethic and community service. After college, she taught third grade at Beaver Dam’s Lincoln Elementary. Reading and literacy lead Kathy to become the district’s Reading Specialist, ELA Coordinator, LST, and Title 1 Coordinator. Principal of South Beaver Dam, Lincoln, and Schurz Elementary in Watertown, she fostered compassionate educational environments.
Kathy valued family and hobbies. Sunday night meals, Packer parties, and summer family vacations showed her dedication. She treasured these moments because they allowed her family to make memories. Her dog Louie often joined her. Passionate gardener Kathy loved her plants. Kathy loved strolling on scenic paths and visiting to the beach. She was ruled by faith. Church council, Sunday School teacher, Bible study groups, daily devotions, and Bible quiet supported Kathy through life’s struggles and joys.
Kathy loved Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks. She watched her kids play sports. Kathy relentlessly sought health remedies. She bravely lived independently by taking care of her health. Daughter Lauren (Ehrin) Eisenberg, granddaughter Ivory, sons Jonathan of Oconomowoc and Connor of Watertown, and husband Jeff. Parents, sisters Shelly Mallow of Watertown, Sherry (Terry) Keller, Medford Minnesota, Susan (Todd) Braatz, and Kristi (Chris) Peirick of Watertown, and mother-in-law survive her Watertown brother-in-law Judy Lehman Minnesota sisters-in-law Lisa Lehman and Mark Woodbury Melissa Riccobono Baltimore, Maryland; nieces, nephews, and numerous family and friends.
Her grandparents, Ray and Florence Hollatz, Gary and Doris Kehl, and brother-in-law died. Father-in-law Dave Mallow, Mike, Shari, Barry Weissenborn Tom Lehman. On Saturday, May 11, 2024, Rev. Daniel Repp will officiate an 11 a.m. funeral at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. On Friday, May 10, 2024, family and friends can visit Hafemeister Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. and church on Saturday from 9 a.m. till the funeral. The Pilgrims Rest Cemetery has graves.
