Cole Peterson Death – On Saturday afternoon, authorities were summoned out to a residence in Stevens Point as the investigation got underway. Cole Peterson, who has been identified as the victim, was reported to have been seen last on Saturday morning at two o’clock in the morning in the 900 block of Main Street in Stevens Point. The body of a student who had been reported missing from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point a day earlier was discovered on Sunday. The student was 20 years old.

Searchers, including officers and employees from the Stevens Point Fire Department, commenced a search at 2:15 a.m. on the west side of town, near where Peterson’s cell phone last pinged, and they employed a drone to assist in the endeavor. West of Pfiffner Pioneer Park, along a channel in the Wisconsin River, law enforcement located a tiny stretch of open water and discovered shoe impressions going to the place. On March 5, at nine in the morning, the Marathon County Dive Team joined the search, and shortly thereafter, divers recovered Peterson’s body. There has been a successful identification achieved. Al Thompson, the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at UW-Stout, released a statement on Sunday evening in which he sent his condolences and comfort to Peterson’s friends and family.

According to Thompson, Peterson, who was from Chaseburg, was a well-liked member of the UWSP landscaping and grounds staff and was currently majoring in natural resources. According to the statement that Thompson released, “It’s never easy to lose a member of the Pointer family, and Cole’s loss will be felt deeply by a lot of people.” “There are not enough words to express how sorry we are to Cole’s parents, as well as the rest of his family and friends.
