Cleveland Fire, Ohio – According to tweets by Cleveland fire officials, firefighters battled a serious fire overnight reported in a vacant home on East 71st Street close to Fleet Avenue. The fire was reported before 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, July 5, 2022, at a residence in Cleveland’s Slavic Village.
At about the same time as the incident, Cleveland police said they got complaints of kids throwing fireworks into the home. On social media, the Cleveland Fire Department posted images that appear to show used pyrotechnics at the scene. There were no known severe injuries. Investigators from Cleveland’s fire department are still looking into the event.

Investigators in Cleveland said they received reports of children throwing fireworks into the house at around the same time as the fire. The Cleveland Fire Department shared photos on social media that appear to show used fireworks at the scene.
According to the Cleveland Fire Officials’ tweet, no significant injuries were reported. Cleveland fire officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident. No additional information has been released by the authorities as the investigation is ongoing.
