Cleve Baker’s early life

Cleve Baker was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. He graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School. After high school, he went on to study at N.C. State, Halifax community college and North Carolina State University. Cleve was the Radio show host at mileHIradio.com and The announcer at First Media Radio.

Career

His first exposure to the Blues was as a child in his grandfather’s tobacco fields. While they walked bent over in the long, long rows of tobacco fields, Granddad’s help would sing work songs and field hollers. That’s when his interest in and enthusiasm for Blues music began. Cleve began his radio career at the age of 15 at WCBT-AM 1230 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. He was the CEO of CTB Talent LLC.

From that first day behind the Control Board and Microphone, with turntables spinning and the seductive scent of dust burning off the Tube Equipment in the Studio, he was bitten by the radio bug. He left the business for many years, opened a restaurant, worked in NASCAR’s Busch Series, was a Shift Supervisor in a Power Plant, owned a liquor store, and finally… returned to the career that was destined for him from the beginning.

Cleve has a distinct presentation style with a wide range of voices that captures and retains attention! Many people recommend Cleve Baker for voice tracking and his syndicated show Confessing The Blues! Cleve was a big fan of blues music and blues artists. He’s always the first in line to make a request! He conducts the study, reads up on the finer points, and listens to music. He enjoys hearing the music up front and centre.
