According to MHP, Dykes sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the site. The collision was responsible for the deaths of two more people who were traveling in the 2003 Ford F-150: 18-year-old Tristan Dykes from Sandersville and 20-year-old Caden McCardle from Ellisville have been charged in connection with the incident. Another passenger in the Ford, identified by the MHP as 20-year-old Andrew Harvey of Laurel, was reportedly airlifted to a nearby medical facility by helicopter. Harvey was a passenger in the Ford.

Further information

Regarding his condition, we do not have any information to share with you at this time. Dana Bumgardner, the public information officer for the Jones County Fire Council, stated that two of the people who were riding in the service vehicle rejected to be sent to the hospital to receive medical treatment. According to Bumgardner, several volunteer fire departments, including South Jones, Southwest Jones, and Boggy, as well as the Ellisville Fire Department, responded to the event.

In addition to the presence of EMServ Ambulance Service at the scene, the Jones County Coroner’s Office and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department were also there to assist with the investigation. State Route 588 remained closed for close to four hours as a result of the extensive amount of time that was required for clearing the scene and with the investigation. This caused a significant disruption in traffic throughout the area. The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing their investigation into the crash that occurred earlier.
