The family of a worker who suffered serious injuries while inside a giraffe enclosure is providing further information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Just after 3:30 p.m. on April 19, Kent County officers were called to Deer Tracks Junction Adventure Park. According to the first account, Tyler Powell, 27, was falling from the giraffe enclosure after it struck a ladder he was on.
He had serious injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital. Tyler suffered a catastrophic brain injury and has been in serious condition at the hospital ever since. On Saturday, May 4, 2024, he went away.
