The Saint Anselm College campus was enveloped in somber reflection as hundreds of students, faculty, staff, monks, and community members gathered on the field in front of Alumni Hall to mourn the tragic loss of 2025 English major, Caroline Rogers. Hailing from Harwich, MA, Caroline’s untimely passing has left a profound impact on the entire campus community.
According to reports from The Crier, Caroline was found deceased in her dormitory on Friday, May 3, from a self-inflicted injury. The news sent shockwaves through the campus, leaving many students grappling with grief and disbelief. In a show of solidarity and support, the Saint Anselm community came together on May 6 for a service of meditation and prayer to honor Caroline’s memory and provide solace to those who are mourning her loss. The gathering served as a space for reflection, remembrance, and healing during this difficult time.
Led by Campus Ministry director Gregg Cecconi, prayers were offered for peace and comfort for Caroline’s family, friends, and all those who have been affected by her passing. Cecconi emphasized the importance of community relationships in times of hardship, urging everyone to lean on each other for support and strength as they navigate through their grief.
The service was a poignant reminder of the profound impact that each member of the Saint Anselm community has on one another. Caroline’s presence, though no longer physical, will continue to be felt in the hearts and memories of those who knew her. As the Saint Anselm community continues to mourn the loss of Caroline Rogers, let us come together in solidarity, compassion, and love. May we find comfort in each other’s company and may we honor Caroline’s memory by fostering a community of support and understanding for all who are in need.
In the days and weeks ahead, let us keep Caroline’s family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this unimaginable loss. May they find strength, peace, and solace in the midst of their grief, knowing that they are surrounded by a community that cares deeply for them. Rest in peace, Caroline. Your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and your memory will forever be cherished within the Saint Anselm community.
