Caroline Dill Death – Caroline Dill, a resident of Columbia, Missouri, and a first-grade teacher at Grant Elementary School has tragically passed away. She was 22 years old at the time of her death. She was announced dead in a social media post that read “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Caroline “Lina” Dill, another dearest classmate. Her teaching career was just starting as she recently graduated from Mizzou. She was a sweet and caring soul. The Class of 2019 expresses deep condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of our former superintendent. Caroline’s 1st-grade students and their school district are indeed in our prayers as well.”

On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, a Missouri River event took place that led to the drowning of a 22-year-old Columbia woman about 700 feet downstream of Katfish Katy’s Access. The victim has been identified as Columbia, Missouri resident Caroline M. Dill. Dill was the driver of the car that ended up in the river, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. At 8:30 p.m., Dill was declared dead by the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office under the direction of Stacy M. Huck.
Reid Millard Funeral Home delivered her body to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office for additional research. Authorities launched a recovery operation after learning that a car was in the water. The individual and the vehicle were both retrieved by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Dive Team with the help of Sgt. D.T. Shikles, Cpl. T.W. O’Brien, Cpl. N.W. March, Tpr. G.T. Johnson, Tpr. G.A. Ayres, Tpr. L.A. Benke, Tpr. S.W. Bean, and Tpr. C.A. Fox.
