Candace Seals Kaleto Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – An investigation into the death of a Nicholson woman found dead in her house on Saturday revealed she was the victim of murder.
According to picayuneitem.com, the case began on May 7, about 1:45 p.m., when deputies were summoned after Candace Seals Kaleto, 33, was found unresponsive in her residence at 33 Checker Mitchell Rd., according to Maj. Marc Ogden of the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.
When deputies arrived and discovered she had died, they summoned detectives, who discovered enough evidence to order an autopsy and launch an inquiry against her boyfriend, Ryan Wesley Chipman, 29, of 33 Checker Mitchell Rd., originally from D’Iberville.
Kaleto died as a result of blunt force trauma to her head and torso, according to the autopsy. The investigators were able to obtain a warrant for Chipman, who is presently being held in a Washington Parish jail for DUI. According to jail records, he was apprehended in that parish on May 8 at around 2 a.m.
Investigators served Chipman with a warrant for second-degree murder on Thursday after receiving the autopsy results. Ogden said he will be extradited to Pearl River County at a later date.
