Cameron Powell Death – 17-year-old Cameron Powell of Somerset, Kentucky has sadly passed away. He died on Friday 26th May 2023 after the car he was riding in entered Lake Cumberland. He was pronounced dead at the scene. According to information, an investigation has been opened into the circumstances surrounding the drowning death of a young boy from Pulaski County, Kentucky, who was a passenger in a vehicle that ended up in Lake Cumberland.
How did the incident happen?
It was just after 9 o’clock on Friday evening when Russell County Coroner Mark Coots delivered the statement that Cameron Powell, 17, from Somerset had passed away as a result of what seemed to be an accident at the Clifty Creek Boat. Powell’s death occurred as a result of the incident. The authorities stated that there were attempts made to rescue people despite the fact that there were various groups present at the scene.
The victim is currently being taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for further evaluation and to determine the exact cause of death. The occurrence is currently being investigated by officials from the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources Cabinet as well as those from the Russell County Coroner’s Office.

A fatal collision involving two vehicles occurred near the intersection of Floyd Switch Road and Kentucky State Route 1247 at around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. The victim was a male resident of Eubank. The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office made the determination that Bryson W. Goff, age 21, had passed away at the scene of the incident. According to the Kentucky State Police Post 11, Goff was driving a 2021 Black Dodge Ram Pickup and trailer in the northbound lane of Ky. 1247 when he side-swiped a 2011 Silver Dodge Ram pickup truck that was being driven by Carl W. Richmond, 54, of Waynesburg.
Cory Jones, a trooper with the Kentucky State Police Post 11, is in charge of the investigation that is now taking place. Post 11 personnel, Somerset-Pulaski County EMS, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, the Eubank Police Department, the Eubank Fire Department, and the Pulaski County Coroner provided assistance to him at the scene.
