Calvin Carson Death – The family of a 34-year-old resident of Duluth, Minnesota who took their own life at a popular downtown hotel parking ramp is heartbroken. Calvin Carson otherwise referred famously to as “Cali Cal” was a beloved father of four, a brother and uncle, and also a friend to many. Cali Ca took his own life yesterday at the Holiday Inn & Suites Duluth-Downtown parking ramp. Law enforcement agencies responded to the scene after receiving reports of a man who was making suicidal threats.
According to an update from the Duluth Police Department, after hours of unsuccessful negotiation, the victim jumped. He was immediately rushed to an area hospital where he passed away from his injuries. Cali Ca died hours after the negotiation team attempted to talk him out of taking his own life. He was pronounced dead at the local hospital.
After hours of negotiating with the Duluth Police Department’s Crisis Negotiations Team and patrol officers, the 34-year-old Duluth resident chose to jump from the Holiday Inn ramp. The male was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from injuries related to the fall. His name will be withheld until the next of kin is notified. The tragic incident happened at the hotel parking lot located in the 200 block of West Superior Street. Multiple bystanders witnessed the tragic incident as the scene was close to the traffic stop and many persons are reportedly in town for the Marathon week. Many videos have gone viral of the heartbreaking suicide jumper incident. A person who witnessed the scene said he and his family’s life will never remain the same.
