A three-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday afternoon in Richland County resulted in the death of Della Bekeleski and the injury of a man. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the collision that took place at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the city of Ontario at the junction of Lexington Springmill Road and Park Avenue West.
Della Bekeleski, 69 years old, was reportedly operating a Kia Soul in the northbound lane of Lexington Springmill Road when she collided with a guy in another vehicle that was traveling in the westbound lane of Park Avenue West. Bekeleski did not yield at a traffic stop and entered the junction during a red light, which resulted in his vehicle colliding with the other driver’s vehicle.
A collision occurred between the Kia and another car as both were coming to a halt. Bekeleski was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield, but she did not survive her stay there. In addition, the individual was taken to the hospital, and then later transferred to Grant Medical Center via helicopter. According to the patrol, the driver of the final vehicle to be struck was unharmed in the collision.
