Bruce August Death – The University of Texas at Dallas Multicultural Center Director Bruce August has sadly passed away leaving those that knew him in shock. He died on Sunday 9th April 2023. He was confirmed dead in a post that reads “The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Xi Tau Lambda Chapter is saddened to share that our chapter brother, Brother Bruce Anthony August Jr., has transitioned into the Omega Chapter, our chapter of sweet rest”. No cause of death was mentioned.
Bruce August Career
Since 2010, Bruce August Jr. has been employed at The University of Texas at Dallas, where he currently works as the director of the Multicultural Center. He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and from the University of North Texas with a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration. He is a student at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he is working toward a doctorate in public affairs.
He has served as a director for the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education Board, as a representative for District 4 in the UTD Staff Council, as the founding and immediate past president of the Black Faculty and Staff Alliance Employee Resource Group, as well as weekly volunteer work for a number of other organizations.
Who was Bruce August?
He was the brightest star at the Multicultural Center and the University of Texas at Dallas’ most precious gift. He was a buddy, as well as a leader who was always encouraging others. He was a servant with many gifts and talents, and he had everyone in the room laughing. He was a team player who had no problem accomplishing whatever tasks needed to be completed while maintaining a positive attitude. His cheery disposition and infectious grin will be sorely missed all throughout campus.
He has had an impact on an incredible number of people, not just at UTD but all across the world, including students, employees, and teachers. August’s lifelong goal was to make a positive impact on college students because he is confident that the students’ capacity for innovation and hunger for new information will propel us to the next level of educational achievement.
