Brian Forsythe Death – It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Brian Forsythe, a resident of Moncton, New Brunswick. Long-time teacher/administrator/coach Brian Forsythe Brian Edward Forsythe died on Sunday, the 15th of January 2023. He was 75 years old at the time of his passing. Brian will be remembered as a wonderful guidance counsellor, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and coach.

Brian Forsythe’s cause of death

There was no cause of death reported for Brian Forsythe at the time of this publication. Brian was a great man who lived his life to the fullest and gave 110% to everything he did. Todd McKillop said the loss of Brian Forsythe has left him with so many emotions. Brian was first his basketball coach, who instilled a love for basketball in him by teaching him so many life lessons along the way.

Who was Brian Forsythe?

Brian co-founded the Moncton Minor Basketball Association. He helped found the Greater Moncton High School Hub City Hoop Classic Basketball Tournament, which gave thousands of high school athletes and students fond memories. Brian coached the boys’ basketball teams at Fundy (Eastern Charlotte) High School, Harrison Trimble High School, Saint John High School, and Riverview High School.

Brian was HTHS’s longest-tenured coach and modelled a successful basketball program that many New Brunswick schools envied. he was a four-year assistant coach at Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec. Brian coached Team New Brunswick Basketball in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He led Eastern Charlotte Regional High School to the “A” provincial championship in 1975 and the Harrison Trimble Trojans to the “AAA” title in 1992-93.

Career

Coach of the Year in 1987, 1993, and 2001, Brian became an Honorary Lifetime BNB Member in 2004. In 2011, he unretired to work as an administrator for the AEI schools in China. Brian headed the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen during his international education career.

After a distinguished career in education, he led this school through the difficult process of becoming an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Working for AEI in various Chinese cities brought him closer to family abroad and epic travel adventures with Cindi and their friends. Former players and supporters have worked to name the Harrison Trimble High School gymnasium after Brian.

No plans have been announced for Brian Forsythe obituary and funeral yet.
