Brandon Ward Death – The man who was found dead inside a car following a shooting at Towne Center Way in Hampton, VA has been identified. Brandon Ward, an Electrician at Hepaco and a graduate of Virginia Peninsula Community College passed away after he was shot multiple times Friday. According to reports, law enforcement agencies were called to the scene for a shooting report. Arriving officers located the male inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Towne Centre Way. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to police in Hampton, Brandon was shot the outside the Ruby Tuesday and Juicy King Crab House which is located in the first block of Towne Centre Way just after 6:30 p.m. Officers with the Hampton Police Division responded to the incident. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the incident and are working to identify the suspect involved in the shooting. Four people were killed and two police officers were injured in gunshots in an Atlanta suburb on Sunday. The individual wanted in the shootings was shot and killed by police. Andre Longmore, 40, was shot and killed by deputies searching a large area after he had crossed into neighboring Clayton County, according to Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett. The hunt began early Saturday morning in Hampton, a small city of around 8,000 people located roughly 30 miles outside of Atlanta, and includes multiple state and local law enforcement organizations.
Scandrett declared at a press conference on Sunday, “This monster is off our streets.” According to Henry County Sheriff’s spokesperson Syntonia Moore, a sheriff’s deputy and a police officer from Clayton County were injured while attempting to apprehend Longmore. Chief James Turner of the Hampton Police Department has confirmed that three men and one lady were killed. Scott Leavitt, 67, his wife Shirley, 66, Steve Blizzard, 65, and Ronald Jeffers, 66, were named as the four victims on Sunday.
Authorities said that Longmore was wanted for questioning in connection with four separate murders. Both the local police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are looking into the incident. City officials in Hampton have announced that there would be a candlelight memorial Monday night in honor of the victims and to show solidarity with their families.
