Brandon Gist Death – Brandon Gist, a police officer from Detroit, Michigan has passed away unexpectedly following a motorcycle accident in Michigan. Gist was a member at Valley of Michigan – Southeastern Region. He went to Mumford High School and studied at Rochester University. Loved ones are mourning with the news of Gist’s unexpected passing.
Aleah Ligons of Detroit, Michigan, shared in a Facebook post that Brandon Gist was a man that stepped up and was a well rounded good man, the way he loved Aleah’s sister and cousins is indescribable. “Fly high and continue to watch over your babies, Lord give my little sister and cousins strength and heal their broken hearts y’all please keep them in your prayers after losing their husband and dad,” Aleah Ligons wrote.

A collision that occurred on northbound US-23 just north of Silver Lake Road in Green Oak Township claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The collision took place early on Wednesday morning, and when emergency services reacted to the scene, traffic on the northbound lanes of US-23 was severely impacted for about two hours.
On the northbound side of US 23, just to the north of Silver Lake Road, there was an accident that involved a motorcycle that resulted in personal injuries, and officers from the Green Oak Township Police Department were called to the scene. The only rider on the motorcycle, a 42-year-old guy from Burton, Michigan, was heading north on US 23 on his Kawasaki Ninja while the other vehicles in the traffic lanes were moving at the typical rates.
According to eyewitnesses, he made a slight turn to the right before doing a sharp turn to the left, traveling across all lanes of traffic before crashing into the railing wires. Although members of the Green Oak Township Fire Department and the Livingston County Ambulance Service attempted to save the driver’s life, he was unable to recover from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The Livingston County Major Crash Team, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, the Michigan State Police, and the Livingston County Central Dispatch are all assisting in the investigation to determine what caused the collision. The investigation is currently ongoing.
