Brampton Man Killed In Mirror Lake Sea-Doo Accident: Port Carling, ON – The Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a heartbreaking water-related incident that claimed the life of a young man on Mirror Lake in Muskoka Lakes Township. At approximately 6:00 p.m. on June 1, 2024, Bracebridge OPP officers, along with Muskoka EMS and Muskoka Lakes Fire Department, rushed to an address on Bailey Street in Port Carling following reports of a watercraft incident.
Witnesses recounted that a 23-year-old male from Brampton had been operating a sea-doo when he was ejected into the water while performing a maneuver. Tragically, he failed to resurface. An immediate search and rescue operation was launched, and the young man was eventually brought to shore. Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. As the summer season begins and more people take to the lakes and rivers of Muskoka, the OPP issues a reminder of the importance of safety precautions while operating watercraft.
