To begin with, Bob Gaudio grew up in the Bronx and was a member of the musical group The Royal Teens as a youngster, where he played the piano. He attended Bergenfield High School before dropping out to pursue a career in music. As we can see now, Bob Gaudio made the right option, as he has amassed millions of dollars working in the music industry. Gaudio composed the song “Short Shorts” (1958), which became a hit for the band The Royal Teens in 1958.

After the band broke up in 1960, he joined the Four Seasons, who were still relatively obscure at the time. The band’s popular track “Sherry” reached the top of the charts in 1963. Bob Gaudio composed a series of singles for the Four Seasons, including “Big Girls Don’t Cry” (1962), “Walk Like a Man” (1963), “Ronnie” (1964), “Save It for Me” (1964), “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” (1967), and others, with the help of Bob Crewe, the band’s producer. Many of the songs were eventually reworked successfully by other musicians, including The Tremeloes and the Walker Brothers, among others.

After Crewe was sacked in 1968, Gaudio took over as producer and began writing songs with Jake Holmes, resulting in the album “The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette” (1969). The record was financially successful, and it significantly increased the Four Seasons’ net worth. Following that, Gaudio concentrated on producing and composing. He collaborated with Frank and Nancy Sinatra, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, and other well-known stars in the early 1970s, but it should be mentioned that he continued to work with the Four Seasons, and in 1975 he penned “Who Loves You,” which became a tremendous hit and ushered in the band’s resurgence.

In 2012, he received the Ellis Island Medal of Honour for his philanthropic endeavors. He graduated from Bergenfield High School after 50 years after dropping out, allowing him to brag about getting a high school diploma in 2009. Gaudio is played by Erich Bergen in Clint Eastwood’s film “Jersey Boys” (2014), which depicts the story of the band The Four Seasons. The film was nominated for a Tony Award.

Bob tries to keep his personal life quiet, though it is known that he is married to Judy Gaudio, with whom he shares two children, Danielle and Lisa.
