He was born and raised in Joy, Illinois, where he developed a deep love for the close-knit community and the beautiful rural surroundings. Blake’s warm personality and infectious smile endeared him to everyone he met. He had a knack for making people feel valued and appreciated, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
Blake was a graduate of Aledo High School, where he excelled academically and was an active participant in various extracurricular activities. He had a passion for sports, particularly football, and enjoyed playing on the school team. After high school, Blake pursued further education and graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Agricultural Science. He was passionate about agriculture and looked forward to contributing to the family farm and community.
Blake’s love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends and family around the campfire. He had a deep appreciation for nature and often found solace in the tranquility of the countryside. Blake is survived by his loving parents, Eric and Jenny Russell, who were his pillars of strength and support throughout his life. He also leaves behind his beloved brother, Tyson, with whom he shared countless adventures and a close bond.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Blake’s life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home in Aledo. The family invites friends and loved ones to attend the visitation on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at New Boston Cemetery, where Blake will be laid to rest in the presence of close family members.
