Benjamin B. Wills III, 19, of Bethesda, Md., was identified as the student by Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal. The cause of death is yet unknown.

The college’s director of public safety responded to the hall for a medical call at 10:28 a.m., according to the incident report. The man was then pronounced dead at 10:53 a.m. by EMS responders.

Chief Chip Searson of the College of Charleston Department of Public Safety requested an investigation, according to SLED officials.
