According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was shot and hurt early on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at an apartment complex in Beaverton. A 20-year-old Portland man was then detained. Deputies were called to the 18800 block of Southwest Farmington Road just after midnight after several witnesses reported hearing a gunshot and seeing an injured woman. The woman was discovered by the arriving cops outside an apartment unit with a gunshot wound to her leg, according to the police.

Prior to the arrival of emergency medical personnel who would transport the woman to a local hospital, the deputies provided first assistance to the woman. She is receiving care for her wounds and is anticipated to make a full recovery. The victim’s daughter and the suspect, Miguel Vidalez, had a “verbal argument” prior to the shooting, county police discovered. Before deputies arrived, authorities say that Vidalez drove away from the scene in the victim’s car.

He was taken into custody at the Washington County Jail. Police stated that their investigation is ongoing and that other charges may be made in the future.
