Bawtry fire: Nottinghamshire Rescue Service responded to Doncaster large fire

Fire in Bawtry today – Ashfield Fire Station and several other fire rescue team responded to the fire incident in Bawtry on July 5th, 2022. The cause of the fire is yet to be stated but the rescue team at the scene are trying to put out the fire. The Firefighters that responded to the fire incident from the Ashfield Fire Station travelled down on the High Volume Pump to the nearby industrial fire in Bawtry. The location of the fire incident is at Bawtry forest in Bawtry, England.

What happened in Bawtry?

Bawtry is a market town and civil parish in South Yorkshire between Doncaster, Gainsborough and Retford, on the border with Nottinghamshire and close to Lincolnshire. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene together with Ashfield Fire Station rescue team. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended to a fire incident that happened in Ranskill, a village and civil parish in Nottinghamshire’s Bassetlaw district. There is no record of death or injury during the fire incident.

About two hours before now, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service had two fire engines present at the scene and after some moments another four fire engines from the team arrived, making a total of six fire engines from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service alone to put out the fire in Bawtry forest near old Bawtry Road.

The South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service posted about the fire accident on their Facebook page and while giving update about the fire incident it was stated that people should stay away from some areas for the time being while the team finish their work. The post reads “Please note that access to Doncaster Moto Parc is restricted whilst we continue to tackle the fire, thank you for your patience! Also, a big thank you to firefighters from Doncaster for supplying us with 10,000 liters of water! Your help is really appreciated!”
In the post from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service it was confirmed that six fire engines were present at the scene of the fire incident. The poster stated that “Six fire engines are still in attendance at the wildfire near Old Bawtry Road and our crews are working hard to contain the fire.”
