A devastated father who launched a ‘brutal and ruthless’ revenge attack on the teenager he thought had killed his son was sentenced to 33 years in prison today for his actions. Patrick Brown, who was 18 at the time, was attacked by Samson Price, 48, with a machete that had a blade measuring 16 inches long in September 2021 while the teenager was leaving a gym in Northwich, Cheshire. Roofer Mr. Brown was attacked by a man named Price, who was a resident of Goose Green in Wigan.
Price blamed Mr. Brown for the death of his son, Samson Price Jnr., who had drowned in a pond in Wigan the previous October. During the course of a trial that took place at the Chester Crown Court, it was revealed that Price was upset with the conclusion of a police inquiry, which said that his son had died as a result of taking the drug MDMA while camping with Mr. Brown and another friend.
Price was found guilty of attempted murder during his trial, and today, Judge Michael Leeming handed him a sentence of 33 years in prison. The judge told Price that he would have to serve a minimum of 20 years in prison before he could be considered for parole.
