Barefoot Bob McCreadie Obituary, American Dirt Modified racing driver has died: Robert “Barefoot Bob” McCreadie (January 19, 1950–May 15, 2024) was an American Dirt Modified racing driver. He was inducted into the Lowe’s Motor Speedway Walk of Fame, the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame, and the Eastern Motorsport Press Association Hall of Fame.
Upon his induction into the Eastern Motorsports Hall of Fame, the Press Association stated that “Barefoot” Bob McCreadie was famous for his full beard, spectacles, heavy foot, and iconic No. 9 dirt-track Modified stock cars, which were always towed on an open trailer by a station wagon loaded with tools and supplies, and developed a loyal and popular following among those in the grandstands.
McCreadie won 507 track races between 1975 and 2005, spanning from Florida to the southern United States, as well as Australia and Canada. He has won 56 speedway races, 29 points titles, and eight series championships. In 1986, McCreadie won the coveted Super DIRT Week event at Syracuse Mile. He won two Mr. DIRT Modified Championships and three Super DIRT Series Championships, including back-to-back victories in 1994 and 1995.
