How did the crash happen?
The collision happened just before 5 a.m. on Highway 15 northbound near Saint-Jérôme. The driver would have lost control of her vehicle before rolling over one or more times and ended her race in the central reservation, according to preliminary evidence.
The 34-year-old driver was thrown from the car. She was rushed to the hospital with significant injuries and died there. The Quebec police watchdog is looking into a police chase in Saint-Jérôme that led to an accident that killed two persons late on Sunday.
