Ashleigh Reedy Death – Former MHS Varsity Cheerleader Ashleigh Reedy whose full name is Ashleigh Cassandra Reedy has sadly passed away. Ashleigh was a member of the social club Kappa Phi Kappa, where she was involved with Master Follies and intermural sports.
Who was Ashleigh Reedy?
Ashleigh was born in Midland, Texas, on May 1, 2003, to Mike and Amy Reedy. She was a hardworking student who excelled academically, enjoyed her time as an MHS Varsity Cheerleader throughout high school, and was a confidant and friend to many. Ashleigh liked to read, listen to music, and watch the latest Marvel movies. She was also a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech fan who attended games with her parents, brothers, uncles, and cousins.
Ashleigh spent a lot of her leisure time caring for children, babysitting, and volunteering at the church’s childcare. She grew up attending Golf Course Road Church of Christ, where many people loved her and invested in her spiritual development. Ashleigh was active in the youth group and helped in ministries that assisted and cared for younger children.
On June 28, 2020, she pledged her life to Christ in a swimming pool surrounded by relatives. Following several medical issues in elementary school, Ashleigh decided to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner specializing in newborn specialities. While at MHS, she took advantage of the CTE classes offered by Midland College.
Ashleigh will graduate in May 2021 with her Certified Nursing Assistant certification, phlebotomy license, Patient Care Technician certification, and EKG certification. She cared about people and spent a lot of time with them. Ashleigh was committed to a nursing profession, and her time at The Village at Manor Park during clinical rotations confirmed her determination to pursue her dream of earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lubbock Christian University in the fall of 2021. Ashleigh was recognized for making the Dean’s List upon completing each of the three semesters she was enrolled in.
