Death: Man Shot His Brother To Dead In Calhoun County – According to court filings, a man fatally shot his brother in Calhoun County after an alleged fight over a car. On Saturday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was summoned to 210 S. Ontario Street in Pomeroy, where they discovered Anthony Hinners, 59, with a gunshot wound to the chest. On the spot, he was pronounced dead.
According to weareiowa.com, The sheriff’s office requested an investigation from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and the two accused Hinners’ brother, Michael Hinners, 66, with first-degree murder. He’s currently being held at the Carroll County Jail on a $1,000,000.00 cash bond.
Michael and Anthony were reportedly arguing outside Michael’s home about a car that wouldn’t start, according to court papers. Michael, armed with a 10 gauge shotgun, stood on the front porch and shot Anthony once in the chest.
