He was announced dead by the family through a statement on the Assured Community Services LLC Facebook page. “Today I lost my other half, My brother, my business partner, and best friend. We built Assured Community Services LLC as a family and a team. We had so much more living to do. My heart is broken in a million pieces. Bro, you hurt me with this one. Rest easy my brother you will be missed beyond measure.”

The Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue reported that a boater’s body has been found in Lake Norman in the Cornelius region. Anthony Barnes, a Mooresville resident aged 49, was the victim, according to the investigators. Near “the sandbar,” a well-liked spit of land where boaters congregate near the Mecklenburg-Iredell county line, the corpse was discovered late on Sunday, July 16.
According to first responders, a drowning was reported nearby at 7 p.m., and a multi-department search was started. Around 11:30 p.m., fire-rescue officials declared a recovery. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and Cornelius Police Department are conducting an investigation, according to officials. The boater’s cause of death has not been disclosed. It marks the second boater fatality in Lake Norman this month.
