Ante (Polić) Bergam Obituary, Death – On behalf of the Melbourne Croatia Soccer Club committee and members, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the Bergam family on the recent passing of Ante (Polić) Bergam. 29 June 1944 on Otok Krapanj, Croatia – 8 May 2022 in Rosebud, Melbourne
Ante, whom many people would have known by his nickname Polić, was a foundation member, a Melbourne Croatia Radni Odbor committee member (Vice-President) and a long time volunteer.
His passion and dedication to the club was evident throughout his time at the club, most notably he could be seen every Friday night in the Šupa cooking the snapper and calamari, a tradition that continues at the club to this day.
Ante is survived by his wife of 57 years Božidarka (Boža), sons Renato and Denis, daughter Maree, daugther in laws Marina & Diana, son in law Hamko, grandchidren Daniel, Natalie and Alana.
Rosary and Mass for the late Ante Bergam will be held on Thursday 19 May 2022 from 5.30pm (viewing), 6pm (rosary & mass) at Sv. Leopold Mandić Croatian Catholic Church – Sunshine.
