A man was discovered dead from gunshot wounds early on Tuesday morning, January 4, in the parking lot of a strip mall in Pico Rivera. The victim, who was described by deputies as being a male in his 40s, had not been named by the authorities as of yet. Around 12:44 a.m., a caller reported hearing gunshots in the 9500 block of Telegraph Road, according to Deputy Trina Schrader, who is a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department. The injured individual was discovered by deputies lying on the ground in front of a local store. He was pronounced dead at the spot. There is no clear explanation as to what led up to the shooting.

Lieutenant Charles Calderaro of the Sheriff’s Department stated that it was likely that there were people at the strip mall who departed before the deputies arrived. The investigators are hunting for those who saw what happened. Anybody who witnessed the incident or has information about it is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Murder Division at the number 323-890-5500, according to the investigators.
