Andrew Shaw Death – A Hamilton, Ontario man has passed away tragically. Andrew Shaw, a graduate of Barton Secondary School died from a tragic incident at Dofasco- a Canadian steel business established in Hamilton, Ontario. Dofasco is called the largest integrated steel maker in the world, and also a standalone subsidiary of ArcelorMittal. The deadly incident happened on Friday, April 14, 2023. Andrew Shaw has been identified as a graduate of Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology – Hamilton, Ontario-based public college of applied arts and technology.
The Freelance Musician was said to have a long battle with depression. Andrew Shaw was a great vocalist, singer and a lover of everyone. Following his death, Summerfield, a friend of Shaw wrote; “The world lost a really great person. Andrew Shaw and I became friends sharing the stage and at one point he rode on my shoulders when I first stepped on stage for Big Durty.. I always enjoyed seeing Andrew, sharing funny moments, talking about singing, writing, fronting a band… He was special, talented, full of energy, and if you ever met him you would know this all to well.
The Dofasco company has not released any official statement following the death that occurred at their area. “Depression is something many struggle with, and it can quickly become a losing battle. IT’s so important for us all to lift each other up and show compassion where and when needed. Talk to each other, support each other, and above all else, love each other. Today I’m sad, and full of regret that I didn’t spend more time talking to a friend, that I wasn’t involved in his life enough recently and we had just become acquaintance. I’ll miss him, and I feel anguish for his friends and family. Rest easy Andrew,” Summerfield continued.
The singer was described by his friends as a purposeful man who loved his family. Andrew Shaw loved hiking. making music and playing instruments among other things, a friend said. “If you know Andrew Shaw you know his love language was spending time with his loved ones, always making sure his friends had the best time and of course, music. He was friendly and curious and endlessly creative. I rarely saw him without a project on the go, or an instrument or book in his hand. He loved hiking with his beloved Lou, camping and spending time on the beach.”
