He was the son of Joseph Samuel Nims and Sherry Ann Belcher Nims and the husband of Abbygail Ruth Hancock Nims. He was born on July 11, 1992 in Charlotte, North Carolina. His parents are Joseph Samuel Nims and Sherry Ann Belcher Nims. Andrew received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel, where he studied for his entire undergraduate career. He loved all things automotive. He was an absolute fountain of knowledge when it came to automobiles and could answer any question you had about them.
He was a huge fan of Formula 1 Racing, video games, and The Carolina Panthers, and he loved spending time with his fur baby Doug as well. Andrew was an avid foodie who liked to experiment in the kitchen and visit local brewers. Andrew was a bass player and learned the instrument from his father. He enjoyed listening to music of all genres and frequently attended live performances.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Abbygail “Abby” Nims; his daughter, Harper Rose Nims; his parents, Joseph “Joe” and Sherry Nims; his brother, Tyler Nims (Morgan); his nephew, Case Nims; his two nieces, Payton Harrison, and Marleigh Nims; and his maternal grandmother, Anna Lynn. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bradford and Carol Nims; and his maternal grandfather, Donald Belcher. The Celebration of Life Service for Andrew will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 3, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Stuart Pritchett. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, two hours prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
