On Tuesday, there was a second deadly motorcycle accident in the Erie region. The incident took place following a collision between a car and a motorbike on West 12th Street in Millcreek Township, located to the west of Erie. The biker tragically lost their life just after noon. The collision in Erie occurred at 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of East 38th Street and Marion Street, in close proximity to the Tops grocery, as reported by the police and Erie County 911.
The motorbike was heading in an easterly direction on East 38th Street, while the Subaru was traveling in a northerly direction on Marion Street and was making a left turn to head in a westerly direction on East 38th Street. The collision occurred between these two cars. As to the police report, the Subaru overturned and the motorcycle shattered due to the crash. As per the police report, the biker was ejected from the motorcycle and collided with the Subaru.
As per the Coroner’s Office, he was declared deceased at the location at 7:23 p.m. The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been disclosed. The Subaru driver and passenger were transported from the location to UPMC Hamot. The driver passed away at the hospital on Wednesday at 1:04 a.m., according to the coroner’s office. As of Wednesday morning, there was no known information regarding the condition of the passenger.
