Emergency Missing Alert – Overnight, an Amber Alert was sent out for a 12-year-old girl from Berkeley who authorities assume was taken when she left her middle school in Ferguson on Monday afternoon. The case is now being looked into by detectives at the Ferguson Police Department. Chief of Police in Ferguson, Frank McCall, said that investigators are following a few leads, but there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered.
What happened to Natonja Holmes?
McCall stated that at this time, investigators are trying to determine whether or not this might be a case of random abduction or whether or not the 12-year-old girl may have been acquainted with the woman who police are currently searching for. McCall has informed us that there is concern over the young girl’s safety, regardless of the situation. Natonja Holmes, age 12, has been recognized as the girl who has been reported missing.
Holmes has brown eyes, is four feet and four and a half inches tall, weighs 120 pounds, and has braids in her hair. The last time anyone saw Holmes, he was dressed in blue pants and a white t-shirt. Two still photographs captured by the authorities on security cameras at Ferguson Middle School have been made public.
The location in question is the one where the authorities have a strong suspicion that the kidnapping took place on Monday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m., as pupils were being picked up after school. The investigation is focused on locating two women who may be involved. The authorities stated that one of the suspects was seen on security video guiding Holmes by the arm into a blue minivan while wearing a pink helmet and turquoise leggings. These items were observed on the suspect.
The photographs of the suspect and the minivan were published by the police. According to the authorities, the minivan did not have any registration plates. They are of the opinion that it is either a Dodge minivan or a Kia Sedona manufactured between 2008 and 2010. On the website of the Ferguson-Florissant School District, something that has been labeled as an “important message” has been posted as of Wednesday morning.
It is stated that the school district is collaborating with the Ferguson police department on the alleged kidnapping, and that out of an abundance of caution, there will be additional school district security as well as additional Ferguson police officers on and around the Ferguson Middle School campus. This will be done to ensure the safety of everyone.
According to the police in Ferguson, Missouri, it took many hours before an Amber Alert was issued because investigators initially did not have information that a possible kidnapping had taken place. Contact the Ferguson Police Department at (314) 522-3100 if you have any information about the incident.
