Alyson Goldman; Derek Flaman Calgary AB Obituary, Torys Beloved Partner Has Died: A tragic death occurred on May 15, 2024, for Derek Flaman, who resided in Calgary, Alberta, and had previously been a beloved partner of Torys.
Derek, a seasoned partner in our Calgary office and a former member of the firm’s Executive Committee, was a superb lawyer who oversaw some of the biggest energy deals in Western Canada in the previous ten years.
His clients and all those he collaborated with held him in high regard for his quality, moral character, and supreme professionalism in all he accomplished. Above all, he stood out as a remarkable person because of his generosity, willingness to make time for others, and strength of character.
He made numerous, enduring contributions to our firm as a lawyer, mentor, educator, member of the Executive Committee, and leader. We will all miss him a great deal. We grieve his loss together and send our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
