A 77-year-old man, Alfred Flemin from Daytona Beach was killed in a hit-and-run accident, according to police. The collision occurred at the intersection of Mason Avenue and Derbyshire Road at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Alfred Fleming was attempting to cross Mason Avenue when he was struck by a dark-colored vehicle traveling west, according to police.
An officer in the neighborhood stated he attempted to assist Fleming and saw the vehicle momentarily stop at Mason Avenue and Lewis Drive before going further. Fleming was reportedly not crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was hit.

Fleming was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center
