Alfred Calhoun, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Retired Colonel has died

Alfred Calhoun was a retired Colonel with Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. He served with U. S. Marine Corp, stationed in Guam. In 1971, Colonel Calhoun joined OPSO and rapidly established a reputation as a diligent and committed law enforcement officer. In 1973, he moved over to the Investigative Division. He kept moving up the ranks eventually becoming Commander of Investigations before being given the title of Colonel in 1984.

He got countless letters of thanks from the general public and letters of praise from his superiors during his career. He was well-known and well-respected in the world of law enforcement, and he frequently attended training seminars. 1991 saw his retirement. He will be greatly missed by all those who know him and had the privilege of working with him.

Prior to his tragic passing, Alfred Calhoun suffered a tragic illness leading to his death. The circumstances surrounding the cause of the illness leading to his death is unknown. Funeral Services

On Thursday, the 6th of April 6 2023, at 2:00 pm funeral services will be place in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe. Interment will follow at St. Paschal’s Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Rev. Paul Laird. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office has asked that the public remember the deputies in their prayers during this trying time.
