Alexander Smart arrested after Michael Gravely’s Death – Michael Gravely, a 47-year-old victim passed away after shooting in Cartersville. Bartow County started an investigation after he was murdered by a suspect later identified by the officials as 34-year-old Alexander Bradley Smart. What happened in Cartersville?
According to the Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap, dispatch ordered uniform patrol deputies and investigators to the vicinity of Pine Ridge Drive northwest of Cartersville at roughly 7:20 in response to a report of shots fired. This led to a murder investigation at the south corner of Pine Ridge Drive and McTier Circle, which Sheriff Millsap said was the scene of the shooting. The incident happened on on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 and after further inquiry, it was discovered that a murder had taken place at 22 Pine Ridge Drive NW in Cartersville, which is located in Bartow County, Georgia.
The victim of the incident at the residence, 47-year-old Michael Douglas Gravely, was located between two outdoor buildings at a nearby home with a gunshot wound to his lower back by the responding emergency personnel. On the arrival of the officials at the scene on Wednesday, all effort were made in rescuing Michael Gravely after
Gravely was given first aid treatment at the scene by emergency medical personnel, and then he was taken to a local hospital by emergency medical services. Unfortunately, Gravely passed away there as a result of his injuries. Alexander Bradley Smart, 34 years old, was arrested and charged with murder by deputies after they brought him into custody close by without any additional incident. Smart is from Taylorsville.
Smart is now being held without bond at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center. Condolences are been sent to the family members of Michael Gravely after he passed away in shooting near Pine Ridge Drive northwest of Cartersville.
